The Enset Innovation Institute (EII) is a U.S.-anchored nonprofit platform supporting the transformation of Enset as a climate-resilient, women-centered agricultural system in Ethiopia, with long-term relevance across the East African Highlands.
The Institute works to align research institutions, government strategies, enterprise development initiatives, and catalytic financing to unlock Enset’s potential as a scalable food security and economic development system.

Co-Founder & President
Asratie Teferra brings more than 25 years of experience across international development, global health systems, nonprofit governance, and agricultural innovation. He founded the Enset Innovation Institute to advance Enset as a climate-resilient, women-centered agricultural enterprise system aligned with Ethiopia’s national Enset development strategy.
